SANTA ROSA (BCN) — A fire Saturday night in Santa Rosa caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a two-story unoccupied commercial building, fire officials said.
The fire was first reported at 8:04 p.m. at 258 Roseland Ave. where smoke and flames were coming from the building’s first and second floor windows when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the front of the building, but smoke caused damage throughout, according to fire officials.
The fire was under control within 30 minutes.
Neighbors told firefighters the building had been vacant for a while, but homeless people may have been living inside.
No on was injured in the blaze, fire officials said.
The cause is under investigation.
