PACIFICA (KRON) — A three-alarm fire destroyed a home on Pacifica Friday afternoon. The home, one of several homes dangling on the edge of an eroding cliff above the Pacific Ocean, was previously red-tagged, according to fire officials.
At around 2:30 p.m., fire crews responded to the fire at the residence located at 1070 Palmetto Ave.
Firefighters knocked down the fire an hour later. A fire official told KRON that because the house sits precariously on the edge of the cliff, it took some time to reach the blaze.
Video and pictures from the scene show big plumes of black smoke filling the sky along Palmetto Avenue.
