SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco fire crews responded to a gas leak today on Franklin Street in the Pacific Heights neighborhood.
According to officials, the leak was reporter around 1:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Franklin Street.
The leak happened when crews were changing a valve inside the building at 1835 Franklin St., letting loose gas, according to PG&E spokesman Nick Smith.
Fire crews responded to the incident around 1:30 p.m.
A resident called the fire department to report the smell of gas, and fire crews decided to evacuate residents for safety reasons, Smith said.
According to Smith, the evacuation lasted about 30 minutes.
There were no reports of injuries and no interruptions to service, Smith said.
