A restaurant fire was reported on Tuesday evening on Mount Diablo Boulevard in Lafayette, according to authorities.
Contra Costa County Fire Department says the kitchen fire in the restaurant has now been contained but fire crews continue to work on pockets of the fire in the attic of the building.
Officials say a primary search has been completed and cleared.
Contra Costa County and Moraga-Orinda Fire worked together to extinguish the fire. Officials say they are being cautious to ‘preserve historic structure.’
The restaurant was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Mount Diablo between Lafayette Circle and Oakhill Road is closed due to the fire — Authorities ask you to avoid the area as they remain on the scene.
