SANTA ROSA (BCN) — Investigators believe a possible short in an appliance caused a fire at a two-story condominium in Santa Rosa Saturday morning.
At 9:21 a.m., fire dispatchers received a call from a neighbor of the residence, reporting smoke coming from the windows of the home, located at 377 Wall Place, fire officials said. Within 3 minutes firefighters arrived. Soon after, they were able to locate the source of the fire to be in the ground floor living room of the home, according to fire officials.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes, fire officials said.
Firefighters remained at the residence for about 2 hours, removing burned debris and putting out hot spots. The owner of the condominium was not home at the time, fire officials said.
The fire caused heavy damage to the living room and there was smoke damage throughout the home, totaling to about $50,000 in damages, according to fire officials.
There were no reports of injuries and none of the adjoining units were damaged as a result of the blaze, fire officials said.
