FAIRFIELD (KRON) — A convicted felon is back in jail after being caught carrying a firearm.
26-year-old Michael Heath of Vallejo was arrested by Fairfield police Tuesday morning.
An officer was patrolling the area of the 14-00 block of Utah Street around 8 a.m., when she saw a person walk out of a park and try to hide behind a parked car.
The officer said that the man, later identified as Heath, was uncooperative with officers, and after a short struggle, he was taken into police custody.
During a search, officers found a short-barreled shotgun concealed on Heath.
Finding that, officers Heath, charging him with suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, possession of a concealed firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, resisting arrest and violation of post release community supervision.
Heath’s criminal record includes convictions for possessing stolen property and shooting into an occupied house.
