(KRON) Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Hollywood international airport was shut down for several hours Friday after a FedEx cargo plane caught fire upon arrival.
Airport officials say the plane which flew in from Memphis, Tennessee, caught fire when its landing gear collapsed.
Witnesses say the plane exploded while on the runway, causing the engine to separate from the rest of the aircraft.
The plane’s left wing was also heavily damaged.
There are no reports of injuries.
