HAYWARD (KRON) — A popular Hayward restaurant is holding a fundraiser to help out the family of Sgt. Scott Lunger, who was killed in the line of duty.
Residents and officers said it is the least they can do during this difficult time for Lunger’s family.
They gathered to pitch in, all in an effort to help fallen Hayward Sgt. Scott Lunger’s family. All day long, Famous Dave’s was packed with residents and law enforcement officers and others. Thirty-five percent of the proceeds will go to Lunger’s family. Lunger was fatally shot during a traffic stop in July.
In addition, the event raised money through door prizes, raffle items, and a small live auction. The fundraiser will last until closing Tuesday night.
