Falling Stars Challenge sweeps China, people pretend to fall out of cars

Move over “In my feelings” challenge; There is a new trend making rounds on social media.

It’s called the “Flaunt Your Wealth” or the “Falling Stars” and it’s taking Asia by storm.

What the people are doing is pretending to fall out of their vehicles or off their chairs. Someone was even seen pretending to fall off a boat.

But the car needs to be expensive, and it’s even better if your prized possessions or just bundles of cash are all around you.

This first took-off in Russia and was called the “Falling Stars Challenge,” but people in China gravitated towards it and it has since exploded.

The name also changed to “Flaunt Your Wealth,” although you can find pictures under both titles.

What’s interesting is the communist Chinese government has co-opted this trend, turning ostentatious displays of personal wealth into an attempt to promote their jobs or education.

The viral craze isn’t just huge in China. People across the world including Australia have taken the opportunity to show off, under the hashtags “Flaunt Your Wealth” and “Falling Stars.”

And ordinary people have started doing this as well, surrounded by whatever they’re passionate about–like music sheets, painting materials, or even snacks.
