Fallen tree obstructs traffic in San Mateo

SAN MATEO (KRON) — Crews are working to restore the flow of traffic, after a large tree fell on a roadway in San Mateo.

According to the San Mateo police, the tree fell around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, and the tree has blocked traffic on Crystal Springs Road in both directions. San Mateo police said the road should reopen around 12:30 p.m.


Crews said the closure is at the small bridge just east of Eaton Road, which is east of the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Stonehedge at Crystal Springs Road.

Tree crews, San Mateo police and PG&E crews are on the scene and working to clear the roadway.

There is no estimated time as to when the roadway will be cleared, but crews have said that it may take several hours.
