FAIRFIELD (BCN) — Fairfield police said a known gang member was arrested this morning for firing a gun into the air.
Residents in the Utah and Tyler streets area reported the gunfire and gave a description of the gunman around 6:45 a.m., police said.
Officers found Eduardo Ramirez, 26, a documented Norteno gang member from Vacaville, near Lincoln and Utah streets, police said.
Ramirez tried to hide the gun under a vehicle, but the Ruger handgun was recovered and six spent shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
The gun was stolen this month during a vehicle burglary in Chico, police said.
Ramirez was booked in the Solano County Jail for negligent discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to police.
