An East Bay High School was on high alert on Thursday after an anonymous post online threatened the school’s campus.

It said something would occur on Thursday at California High School in San Ramon, and of course, there was a big police presence.

The district says there’s no reason to believe the threat will extend beyond Thursday, but just to be sure, there will an be increased police presence on campus Friday as well.

Classes went as scheduled at California High on Thursday.

Although many believe it was all a hoax, when an anonymous message threatened campus safety, police and the FBI took it seriously.

Along with more police patrolling, both the school and district reached out to parents.

The FBI linked the IP address to Europe. And although the district understands that parents want more information on the threat, this is still an active case and do not want to jeopardize the investigation.

Some parents opted to keep their children out of school for the day. Most students were in attendance.

In the meantime, they’re urging students, if they see or hear anything, to continue reporting it.
