PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A grand jury filed new charges against a former NFL player who was shot by a homeowner during an attempted burglary.
Stanley T. Wilson II is now charged with first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree burglary, aggravated harassment, second-degree disorderly conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal trespass.
KOIN 6 News learned the aggravated harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct charges stem from an incident that occurred at OHSU.
Court records show Wilson spit on an OHSU police officer causing “public inconvenience, annoyance, and alarm” while Wilson reportedly engaged in “fighting and violent, tumultuous and threatening behavior.”
The indictment was filed Wednesday. Wilson is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on Thursday at the Multnomah County Justice Center.
He remains out of custody on bail.
Wilson was taken into custody after being shot by a homeowner on June 22 in Southwest Portland.
Wilson was found naked and wounded by a gunshot in the backyard of a multi-million dollar home. Detectives learned Wilson had attempted to break into the residence and the homeowner shot Wilson.
A grand jury reviewed the homeowner’s use of force and determined it was legally justified.
Oregon law allows a person to use deadly physical force against someone trying to burglarize their home.
