MORAGA (KRON) – A huge boulder came down in Moraga on Friday morning along a popular traveled road.
The boulder came down on Pinehurst Road, 2.5 miles from Canyon Road. This narrow and heavy traveled road has one lane blocked off by the boulder.
California Highway Patrol and Contra Costa County Public Works are on scene handling traffic conditions and removing the boulder from the road.

ALAMEDA (KRON) – This week’s storm was the tipping point for a large tree in Alameda.
On Thursday evening around 8:00 p.m., a large tree belonging to the city of Alameda collapsed, damaging a residential area.
The large tree came down and clipped the roof a home, crushed vehicle out front the home, and partially landed on another vehicle across the street.
The tree also brought down power lines, leaving multiple residential homes without power.
As of Friday morning, power has not been restored. Power cannot be restored until the roof of the home is fixed as the power line is attached to the roof of the property. Residents can expect the earliest the power will be restored to be Saturday.
No one was injured.
Drought conditions and the sudden saturation of the storm is what is believed to have caused the tree to come down.
