SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A California sheriff’s deputy on paid leave has been arrested three times in three months on drunken driving charges.
The Sacramento Bee reports that 39-year-old El Dorado County Deputy John Anthony Broadfoot of South Lake Tahoe was most recently arrested Friday after a crash near Shingle Springs.
His lawyer, Danny Brace, says Broadfoot’s bail was set at $250,000 and he was released on his own recognizance with conditions imposed by the court.
According to a California Highway Patrol news release, Broadfoot was arrested after driving in a parking lot and hit a parked vehicle.
Broadfoot was also arrested by CHP officers on suspicion of DUI on Dec. 8 and Feb. 25. He was put on paid administrative leave after the first arrest.
