UPDATE: PARIS (AP) – French president confirms EgyptAir flight crashed, no hypothesis being ruled out.


PARIS, France (KRON) — EgyptAir is reporting that a plane has disappeared from radar, according to a Facebook post on the airliner’s website.

Officials believe the plane crashed into the Meditteran Sea, according to CNN.

Flight MS804 departed Paris, France and was heading to Cairo, Egypt. The plane departed at 11:09 p.m. Paris time (2:09 p.m. Pacific time).

EGYPTAIR said updates will come as more information becomes available.

The plane was flying at a height of 37,000 feet and disappeared shortly after entering Egyptian airspace by 10 miles, EgyptAir said on Twitter.

A total of 66 people were on board, including 56 passengers and 10 crew members. They include one child, two infants, three EgyptAir personnel and seven cabin crew.

The airline said Flight 804 from Paris to Cairo vanished 2:45 a.m. Egypt time (5:30 p.m. Pacific Time).

“Noteworthy that the aircraft pilot has 6275 of flying hours including 2101 flying hours on Airbus 320,” EgyptAir said on Twitter.

The passengers’ nationalities are as follows:

– 2 Iraqis

– 1 Kuwaiti

– 1 Saudi

– 1 Portuguese
