EAST PALO ALTO (KRON) — Police arrested a a 41-year-old East Palo Alto man Monday following a month-long investigation involving the sale of cocaine.

The Menlo Park Police Department’s Narcotic Enforcement Team along with the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force, and the FBI served a search warrant in the 2300 block of Clarke Avenue in East Palo Alto.

Lamar Johnson was arrested moments after he left his residence in his vehicle on Monday morning.

“This search warrant was the result of a month long investigation into alleged on-going sales of cocaine base,” police said.

During the search, detectives and agents located large amounts of cocaine base packaged for sales, large amounts of prescription medications for sales, a loaded stolen firearm, ammunition, and cash, according to police.

Johnson was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for possession for sales of a controlled substances, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while possessing controlled substances, and possession of stolen property.
