(KRON/BCN) — A fire destroyed a home early Saturday morning near Tomales Bay, according to fire officials with the Marin County Fire Department.

At 4:39 a.m. firefighters responded to a fire in the 500 block of Pierce Point Road in unincorporated Marin County, after a person who had called 911 and said flames were shooting out of the home’s roof.

The home, an older two-story farmhouse, was located adjacent to Tomales Bay State Park.

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze by 5:40 a.m., despite a limited supply of water at the location, fire officials said.

The damaged home was considered a total loss.

Fire officials were unsure how many people lived in the house, but all residents were able to safely evacuate.

No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
