MILPITAS (BCN) — Police in Milpitas last weekend arrested two people who allegedly
stole a vehicle and tried to evade arrest.
Officers responded at around 2 a.m. Sunday to a report of a Honda
Accord that had been stolen from the 1000 block of Nova Court.
An officer located the vehicle traveling south on Main Street at
Mihalakis Drive, police said.
The suspects, later identified as Jorgina Orozco, 19, and Jacob
Pippen, 34, both of Milpitas, saw the officer and abandoned the vehicle,
which ended up crashing into a signpost, police said.
Both suspects were taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
During the ensuing investigation, officers also recovered stolen
property from an unreported auto burglary in the area and other contraband on
the suspects, police said.
Orozco was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, auto burglary,
resisting arrest, hit-and-run, conspiracy, possession of stolen property,
possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance and being
under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police.
Pippen was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary, possession of
burglary tools, conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property,
possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a
controlled substance, police said.
