WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — “America Runs on Dunkin’,” except for the Bay Area, until today.
Dunkin’ Donuts has opened up the first Bay Area location at 1250 Newell Avenue in Walnut Creek on Wednesday.
Bay Area residents lined up early Wednesday morning for the grand opening, which included a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring food and beverage samples and special giveaways.
The new location is a part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ DD Green Achievement program, which aims to help franchisees build sustainable, energy-efficient restaurants.
The new restaurant will be open from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week with free Wi-Fi and will employ about 80 crew members.
Golden Gate Restaurant Group, LLC, the franchisee behind the new Walnut Creek restaurant, plans to open 12 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Contra Costa County over the coming years.
