PETALUMA (KRON) — A DUI driver collided with 4 parked cars and one motor cycle in west Petaluma on Friday night.
On Friday night at 10:29 p.m. the Petaluma Police Department received a report of a multiple vehicle collision on 6th Street south of the intersection of D Street.
Officers arrived on scene and found 4 cars and one Harley Davidson Motorcycle, all of which were parked on the west side of the roadway and had been hit by a silver Dodge pickup. The Dodge pickup was stopped parked on top of the Harley Davidson.
The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup, who was later identified as Evert Gonzalezgarcia, 29, of Petaluma, was seen by witnesses running into a house south of E Street.
Officers went to the residence and located him in the house with the owner of the house. Gonzalezgarcia was not known by the home owner and he apparently ran in to escape from officers.
Once contacted by officers he was cooperative.
Gonzalezgarcia had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and appeared intoxicated. He performed FST’s which he performed poorly on. He performed a breath test and his blood alcohol level was .138.
Gonzalezgarcia was also found to be unlicensed to drive in the state of California.
Gonzalezgarcia was placed under arrest for DUI and booked into Sonoma County Jail on DUI charges. His bail was set at $5,000.
No injuries were reported in this incident.
All owners of the parked cars which were hit were contacted. 4 of the 5 parked vehicles that were hit sustained major damage. The front of Gonzalezgarcia’s Dodge sustained major damage.
