Dublin school superintendent resigns

There’s a leadership change within the Dublin Unified School District now that Leslie Boozer is no longer superintendent.

The school district said Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Matt Campbell will serve in the position of acting superintendent during the transition period.

The announcement was made last night and it comes as teachers prepare to go on strike if a new deal isn’t reached with the district.

Last Friday, 98 percent of the teachers association agreed to authorize a strike if mediation had been exhausted.

Teachers are asking for a 3 percent salary raise, while the district is offering 2 percent.

They are also asking for class size caps, improved staffing ratios for counselors and better compensation that will draw educators to the district.
