SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — In just over three days, a major closure of Highway 101 approaching the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco will be shut down.

Caltrans is finishing work on the new Presidio Parkway, which has been under construction since 2009.

In the early morning hours of July 8, crews will temporarily close Doyle Drive in order to install overhead signage along the new roadway. The plan is to complete the work quickly when traffic is lightest.

Drivers will be able to use a detour to get around the closure. Then, at 10 p.m. on July 9th, Doyle Drive will be completely closed down until 5 a.m. the following Monday. The closure will extend from the Marina to the intersection with Highway 1.

Drivers will still be able use Highway 1 to reach the Golden Gate Bridge.
