SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Few of us could travel across the globe to the world’s best restaurant.
But what if the restaurant came to you?
On Friday night’s Dine and Dish, Vicki Liviakis meets up with three famous food brothers in the Bay Area from Spain.
Jordi, Joan, and Josep – the Roca brothers.
They may speak only Spanish, but good food is a universal language.
The brothers are in San Francisco taking a break from their three Michelin star restaurant El Celler de Can Roca.
It is voted No. 1 restaurant in the world last year.
They are here to cook for one week in a pop-up restaurant at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom.
The Roca brothers are known for pushing the envelope.
Jordi is making a way-out dessert he calls dish player.
Red, yellow, and green fruit puree squeezed onto a plate that plays notes.
Jordi admits it sounds like a sci-fi movie soundtrack.
Back in the kitchen where it’s a lot quieter, young cooks from Spain and culinary students from the Bay Area prep for dinner using local ingredients.
A lucky two will be chosen to travel back to Spain for an internship at El Celler de Can Roca.
