BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – A man who lost his cell phone while running from deputies in Berkeley County has been arrested, all thanks to a Facebook post on his own page.
On Friday, deputies say 30-year-old Shawn Hagan left his phone behind while running from police. So, they posted a little love note on his own profile page.
“Hi Shawn, you lost your phone while running from the police. Contact Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office if you want it back,” the post read.
The department then shared the post on their own page, and after receiving many tips and comments, deputies were able to track the suspect down on Saturday.
“Does anyone know Shawn Hagan? (Not asking for a friend) We would really like to return his phone,” they said.
Hagan attempted to flee from deputies once again, but this time he was caught.
“Next time, secure all valuables before running.”
Hagan now faces charges for running from deputies as well as drug charges.
