SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man was arrested for trespassing after deputies say they found him naked and taking a shower in the home of a woman he did not know.
At 3:40 a.m. on March 13, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person at a home on Airmont Drive in Spring Hill. A 13-year-old girl who lives at the home ran out of the house and called 911 after she woke up to banging on the bathroom door in the hallway next to her bedroom.
She told deputies that the shower had turned on and remained on for an extended period of time. She told deputies that all of her siblings were in bed and her mother was in bed on the opposite side of the house. The girl panicked and left her home through her bedroom window and ran to a neighbor’s house to get help.
Deputies responded to the girl’s house and spoke with the girl’s mother, Sandra Gilbertsen. Deputies told her that her daughter had called 911 and asked her to check and make sure all of her children were safe, which they were.
Deputies saw that the bathroom light was on and the shower was running. Gilbertsen told deputies that no one should be in the shower. Deputies then looked in the bathroom and saw Joshua Lee Noble, age 35, completely nude and sitting in the bathtub with the shower on, according to an arrest affidavit.
He then yelled “babe” several times and said that he lived there, according to the affidavit. Deputies say Gilbertsen’s eyes were bloodshot and he smelled like alcohol. He told detectives that he had a drink with his wife at a bar and they were walking home together and somehow got separated. Noble said that he could not remember how or when he entered the residence, according to the arrest affidavit.
Gilbertsen said she did not recognize or give permission to the man to enter her home.
Noble was arrested and charged with one count of Trespass to an Occupied Structure or Conveyance.
Gilbertsen told the deputy that she locked her front door, but left the side garage door and rear sliding door unlocked. Investigators say there were no signs of forced entry at the home and they do not know how Noble got in the house.
