NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Demonstrators gathered on West End Avenue Saturday to speak out about recent police shootings involving black men.
About 100 people gathered Saturday afternoon at Centennial Park for what organizers called a justice march. They told WKRN-TV the event was held to generate love and leadership.
The group then moved to West End Avenue and 25th Avenue South where they sat for one hour.
During the demonstration, one person was arrested.
According to Metro police, 23-year-old Chase Detrick jumped onto a motorist’s car and then resisted arrest.
This was the second weekend for a justice march hosted by the organizers. Around 1,000 people took part in a demonstration last week.
