Decision 2016: Measure C1, the AC Transit Parcel Tax

ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) — Some voters in Alameda and Contra Costa County will see Measure C1, or the AC Transit Parcel Tax, on their ballot.

The measure wants to extend the current $8/month parcel tax – which comes to $96 a year – for an additional 20 years to maintain AC Transit service from San Pablo to Hayward.

This measure will only appear appear on the ballots of voters who live along that corridor.

A 2/3 “yes” vote is needed to pass.

Those against the measure say it doesn’t require AC Transit to do more to pay down the debt it already has… Like under-funded retirement benefits and pensions.
