A deadly accident shut down all but one lane of northbound Interstate 680 Monday morning in Danville.
CHP reported a down tree was laying across all lanes just north of the Sycamore Valley Rd. off-ramp at 9:00 a.m.
An accident was simultaneously reported at the El Pintado exit.
It is unclear if the fallen tree and accident are directly related.
The victim has not been identified.
No other injuries have been reported.
CHP estimates the freeway will be closed in this area until 12:30 p.m.
