CONCORD (KRON) — A 15-year-old De La Salle High School football player was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl on campus after a football game.

Police were notified on Nov. 21 of the incident that happened after a football game on Nov. 18, according to the Concord Police Department.

The victim attends Carondelet High School, police said.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and there are no other victims in this case.

A statement from Joe Aliotti, De La Salle’s Dean of Students:

“We are deeply about the safety and well-being of all students at De La Salle And Carondelet. We are not at liberty to discuss the situation; it is our responsibility to protect the privacy of the minors involved. De La Salle High School is cooperating fully with the police in the investigation.”

Statement from Carondelet Principal Kevin Cushing:

Local news outlets are reporting the arrest of a De La Salle student in connection with an alleged assault of a Carondelet student.

I am writing to let you know that this student reached out to me on Nov. 21 to report this incident. We immediately provided support for this student and her family and contacted the Concord Police Department.

In an effort to protect the privacy of our student and her family, we cannot disclose any details of the case. We are cooperating with the Concord Police Department to provide any information needed in its investigation of the incident.

Our personal counselors are working with our student and her family to provide emotional support during this difficult time. Our counselors are available to all students who may wish to process this incident or any other feelings.

Please know that the safety and wellbeing of our young women is of the utmost importance to us. I am proud of the courage shown by this young woman in coming forward with this information. The Carondelet Community will stand behind her.
