A data leak has affected about 5,500 patients of Muir Medical Group, IPA.
KRON4’s Lydia Pantazes was at a hospital in Walnut Creek Wednesday morning.
She says names, social security numbers, and information about medication and treatment are all pieces of information the company believes may have been taken by an employee before she quit.
The beach does not affect all John Muir Health patients. It is specific to the Muir Medical Group, IPA.
MMG IPA has notified affected physicians and patients.
All inquiries on this matter should be directed to Muir Medical Group IPA and Ute Burness at 925-210-2000. Per Muir Medical Group, IPA’s news release, concerned members of the public should call 1-833-221-9225 for additional information.
