DANVILLE (BCN) — A dog park in the town of Danville will be open about two months earlier than normal as a result of a drought-related decision, according to
town officials.
Hap Magee Ranch Park at 1025 La Gonda Way in Danville is slated to open on Jan. 22, ahead of the expected March 1 date.
Usually the park is closed from the beginning of December until March in order to give the grass fields time to heal and new sod to be laid, according to town officials.
But the sod will be not replaced this season the needed irrigation not being available due to state drought restrictions, town officials said.
So the park will be opened early, but town officials said it will be closed still on days of inclement weather. Residents can call (925)314-3484 to find out whether the park is open on those days.
