NEW YORK (KRON/AP) – Drug store giant CVS has shut down its online photo service as it warns customers that the service may have suffered a credit card data breach.
The nation’s second-largest drugstore chain says the site is being switched off as a precaution and that it has also disabled its related mobile device apps.
CVS Health Corp. says payment information on its photo site is collected by an outside vendor and that it’s kept separate from the main CVS.com website and the computer system used in its pharmacies. The company says payments made through CVS.com and in CVS stores are not affected.
The drug store chain would not say how many customers could potentially be affected.
