RICHMOND (KRON)—Crews are working to clear the scene of a big rig that overturned on the San Rafael Bridge.

The incident happened at around 7 p.m Wednesday.

The big rig was towing an empty trailer when it collided with a temporary concrete rail on the eastbound side of Interstate 580 in Richmond.

The collision caused both the truck and trailer to overturn.

One lane has remained open while there are certain closures at the scene in order for crews to clear it.

Drivers who plan on crossing the San Rafael Bridge going eastbound should expect delays.
