County workers report hearing gunfire near Antioch office park

ANTIOCH (KRON) — County workers in Antioch reported hearing gunfire into a car on Friday morning near an office park, police said.

Contra Costa County Employment and Human Services Department workers reported that they heard gunshots outside of an office park in the 4500 block of Delta Fair Boulevard shortly after 10 a.m., county spokeswoman Betsy Burkhart said.

It did not appear that anyone tried to shoot into the buildings but instead that a suspect shot at a passing vehicle, Burkhart said. There’s nothing else connecting the incident to the county office.

Antioch police responded and located a firearm but did not immediately find the suspect, Burkhart said. There were no victims at the scene.
