SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Officers arrested an armed gunman who tried to flee from SFPD officers by jumping from roof to roof in San Francisco’s Presidio neighborhood on Friday morning, a police spokeswoman said.
Police were called at 11:26 a.m. to reports of an argument near the corner of Baker and Lombard streets. The confrontation escalated and a man pulled out a gun, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said.
When officers arrived the man ran from them and they chased him. He tried to escape by climbing to a roof and jumping from roof to roof with officers in pursuit.
The man and entered a building in the 3000 block of Baker Street.
Police sent police dogs to flush out the suspect and he was taken into custody, Gatpandan said.
The suspect has not been identified. No injuries were reported.
