After days of heavy rain, a massive sinkhole suddenly opened up on a farm in New Zealand.

Scientists calling it “spectacular,” explaining that the crater has exposed 60,000-year-old volcanic deposits at the base of the hole.

The canyon-like sinkhole is 656 feet long, 66 feet deep, and 16 feet wide.

To put that into perspective, that’s as long as four Olympic swimming pools.

The farm owners say they plan to fence it off, and leave the sinkhole as it is.
