SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Get ready for some delays, detours, and extra congestion on the normally congested Van Ness Avenue.

Starting on Thursday, a bus stop is being removed on Van Ness Avenue at Vallejo.

It is the initial construction of dedicated bus lanes in the middle of the busy boulevard.

On the first week of November, the left turn lanes will be adjusted in some spots to accommodate the construction, according to MUNI officials.

In mid-November, left turns lanes will be eliminated.

The real work begins in December, but the end result will be a blessing, of sorts, for mass transit riders and drivers.
