CONCORD (KRON/BCN) — A car plowed into three vehicles, an intersection’s center median and a fire hydrant during a rollover crash Tuesday morning in Concord, according to police.
Concord police received a report of the crash at 11:13 a.m. today at the intersection of Clayton Road at Treat Boulevard, according to police.
Responding officers found a Hyundai on its side, blocking Clayton Road’s westbound lanes. The vehicle was determined to have struck three other vehicles and a center median prior to hitting a fire hydrant, which was spraying water into the air, police said.
Two motorists involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Clayton Road had to be closed for around an hour for water district personnel to shut off the flow to the damaged hydrant while tow trucks removed the involved vehicles.
Police were not immediately able to say what led up to the crash.
