CONCORD (KRON) — Police on Wednesday asked for the public’s help in locating a man accused of ramming his pick-up into another vehicle occupied by a woman and two young children.

Investigators say an arrest warrant has been issued for Dinael Rivas who is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and making criminal threats.

Police tell KRON 4 Rivas has a criminal history. They say in a previous incident he’s reported to have pointed a handgun at a victim and then pistol whipping her. Investigators declined to release too many details citing the confidential nature of the case.

Rivas is described as Latino, 5’5″, about 180 lb., with black hair and brown eyes. Rivas has been seen driving a brown pickup truck with a brown camper shell or with an older model gray or green four door Mercedes. Police say Rivas may be in possession of a firearm.

Anyone who sees Rivas, is urged to call 911 and advise police of his location. Investigators warn you should not attempt to apprehend Rivas, saying he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
