OAKLAND (KRON) — “Canine Comfort” dogs have been brought to the scene of the Oakland warehouse fire that has claimed 30 lives.
Firefighters, police officers, and other responders are still searching the collapsed building for missing people. The inside of the structure is so dangerous, that the search is literally taking place inch by inch.
Family members and friends are waiting anxiously to find out if their loved ones are inside.
This is an extremely delicate and emotional process for everyone involved.
Debbie Wanline showed up to the scene with two “Canine Comfort” dogs from the Valley Human Society.
She says, “People can hug them and grab them.”
“They provide an amazing amount of comfort and calm,” Wanline said.
