EUGENE, OR (KRON) — Two Contra Costa County murder suspects were arrested in Oregon Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Oregon State Police arrested 20-year-old Zakari Wilson and 24-year-old Artie Adanandus were arrested near Eugene while driving on Interstate 5.

The arrest came just found after officials with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office called OSP, letting them know that murder suspects were driving through Oregon.

Police found the vehicle, a black 2014 Kia Soul around 5 p.m. and pulled it over, shutting down the freeway in both directions for about 20 minutes.

Both men cooperated with police and were taken into custody without incident.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s was not able to say whether Wilson and Adanandus were homicide suspects in a sheriff’s investigation or a separate police case in the county.
