(BCN) — The United States Coast Guard on Wednesday helped tow in a disabled sailing vessel that was adrift about 30 miles southwest of Monterey.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center received notification around 10 a.m. Wednesday a sailing vessel was disabled and adrift with one person aboard. The vessel became disabled when it lost its rigging during a recent storm.

Crews launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Monterey, and the rescue boat was able to tow the disabled boat to Monterey.

The boats arrived in Monterey around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

There were no medical concerns reported during the incident.
