UPDATE 12:38 P.M.:
DALY CITY (KRON) — Emergency crews rescued two dogs that fell off a cliff with a man and woman early this morning in Daly City, a spokesman for the Peninsula Humane Society & Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded at about 3 a.m. to rescue the woman and dogs off the cliff at Mussel Rock Park. The man who had been with her was able to get back up atop the cliff and call for help.
Crews rescued the woman using a Coast Guard helicopter, hoisting her from 100 to 150 feet from the top and 100 to 150 feet from the bottom of the cliff.
Firefighters tried to initially rescue the woman, but her two dogs were acting aggressively and rescuers weren’t able to reach her, fire officials said.
The two dogs remained after crews rescued the woman, but are now with their owners, humane society spokesman Scott Delucchi said.
Delucchi said the humane society issued a notice to the couple to have one dog evaluated by a veterinarian because the dog’s leg was injured.
He didn’t know the extent of the dog’s injuries.
UPDATE 8:00 A.M.: — The U.S. Coast Guard this morning has successfully rescued a woman who fell down a cliff in Daly City.
A Coast Guard helicopter was able to hoist the woman from the side of the cliff, according to Coast Guard officials.
She is being transported to the hospital.
UPDATE 6:33 A.M.: — The U.S. Coast Guard and the North County Fire Protection District are attempting to rescue a woman who fell down a cliff this morning in Daly City.
The woman and a man reportedly fell more than 100 feet down the cliff while walking two dogs.
The man was able to climb back up the cliff, but the woman is still stranded about 100 to 150 feet from the top of the cliff and 100 to 150 feet from the bottom of the cliff, according to Coast Guard officials.
The Coast Guard has launched a helicopter from San Francisco and is working to rescue the woman by hoisting her from the side of the cliff.

The Coast Guard responded to the scene around 3 a.m.
On Wednesday morning Daly City police and firefighters are responding to a cliff rescue at Thornton Beach off Highway 35 near Palisades Park in Daly City involving two people.
The call came in at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning of reports that a woman, man and two dogs were walking along the cliff when they fell down, according to police.
The man who fell was able to crawl up the hill and look for help.
Firefighters were able to locate the woman about 50 to 75 feet up the cliff side from the beach.
The man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries..
Currently, the woman and her dogs are still stuck on the cliff.
The Coast Guard is no being called in to help assist the incident.
