SAN RAFAEL (KRON) — A 48-year-old man who was arrested last Friday for allegedly robbing banks in San Francisco and Antioch has now been linked to a robbery in San Rafael last week.

Darius Gilbert, dubbed the “Clean Cut Bandit,” was arrest on Friday at a hotel in the Bel Air area of Los Angeles.

San Rafael police Lt. Raffaello Pata said that Gilbert is suspect of robbing the Bank of Marin in the 1100 block of Fourth Street around 10:40 a.m. on June 2.

Special agents with the FBI identified Gilbert from a picture taken inside the bank.

FBI officials say that Gilbert is suspected of at least seven other bank robberies in San Francisco over the past two months.

In many of the robberies, the robber was photographed wearing a short-sleeved polo short and aviator sunglasses. In a least some of the robberies, the man was armed with a knife. In at least one of the heists, he showed a handgun.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco is prosecuting Gilbert.
