BURLINGAME (KRON) — Two men are in jail after an observant citizen gave police a tip.

Early Thursday morning, Burlingame police were called to the 800 block of Cowan Road after getting a report of an auto burglary.

The 911 caller also reported seeing two suspicious people in the area.

The men left before police arrived, but the caller had written down their license plate number and a description of their car.

After a quick investigation, officers were able to confirm that a car had been burglarized.

While police were on the scene of the burglary, they learned a car matching the description given by the 911 caller had been stopped for a traffic violation in Daly City.

Working in collaboration with Burlingame police, Daly City and Broadmoor police held the two men until Burlingame Police came and arrested them.

The two men were identified as 53-year old Edward Armstrong Jr. and 24-year old Antonio Gonzalez.

Both are from San Bruno.
