A number of community advocates joined forces as safety escorts at BART stations across the East Bay after the string of deaths on BART within the last two weeks.

A group of men decided to take a stand, hoping with their work, the fatalities surrounding BART will stop.

At the Richmond BART Station, a group of men volunteered to walk anyone that may need their help.

This comes after four people were recently found dead at different BART stations.

Not everyone is willing to accept the offer at first glance, but there are definitely those who appreciate it.

After helping out in Richmond, the safety escorts headed over to El Cerrito Del Norte. It didn’t stop there.

The group started the safety escorts last Tuesday.

They plan to continue doing it until they feel a sense of safety has been restored on BART.
