MARTINEZ (BCN) — Authorities are looking for a motorist who struck a teenager riding a bicycle last week in Martinez.

The incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 15 as the 15-year-old victim was traveling on the shoulder of eastbound Pacheco Boulevard near Sodaro Drive in Vine Hill, according to California Highway Patrol officials.

The teen was riding with his friend when a vehicle veered off the road and collided with the back of his bicycle. The teen was ejected from his bike and landed in the roadway, CHP says.

The motorist then fled the scene.

CHP officials did not say whether the victim suffered injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a late 2000 model Toyota Prius.
