KRON—About 38 people were killed in car crashes during Labor Day weekend throughout California, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The number of people arrested for driving under the influence this year decreased by 12 percent compared to the year before.
Approximately 1,083 people were arrested for DUI by CHP officers in the state.
