MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (KRON/WTNH) — Disturbing new details are emerging in the murder investigation of a 21-year-old father who police say confessed to throwing his seven month old son over a Connecticut bridge before trying to take his own life.

On Tuesday, police recovered the body of the infant, Aaden Moreno, in the Connecticut River miles downstream from where his father plunged into the water from the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown two days before, according to investigators.

Shortly before Moreno jumped on Sunday officers arrived on the scene and attempted to stop him. The father was rescued from the river below and brought to Hartford Hospital. An empty stroller was near the jump site and a massive search was launched for the baby. Moreno later told officers he hurled the baby over the railing before they arrived, according to police.

Court documents obtained by WTNH News 8 gives a glimpse into what led up to the tragic events. The documents reveal there were intensifying issues between Moreno and the baby’s mother, Adrianne Oyola. WTNH says Oyola had tried to take out a restraining order for her and her son against Moreno, saying she feared for their safety. That restraining order was denied.

A text conversation began between Moreno and Oyola right around 11:18 pm. Moreno texted the baby’s mother saying he needed to talk to her. When she tried to see what it was about, he essentially told her not to worry about it. The following messages transpired between the two right around 11:30, shortly before Moreno and his son went off the bridge.

Here is a look at some of the text exchanges between the two:

TONY: Enjoy your new life without us.

ADRIANNE: You can’t just deside not to bring him back Tony.

ADRIANNE: Seriously don’t play around like that. Please don’t try and take him from me!!!!

TONY: You tried to take him away from me. You failed. I didn’t

TONY: Enjoy your new life without us.

ADRIANNE: Where are you?!

ADRIANNE: Where’s Aaden?

TONY: He’s dead

TONY: And soon I will be too

ADRIANNE: Your playing right now! Please tell me your kidding!!!!!!!
